Walter Isaacson’s new book focusses on the digital age and how it was formed. Review by Nick Bilton.
Part of the problem, Mr. Isaacson writesin “The Innovators,” is how the creationmyth seekstomake heroes outof individuals, rather than the group. And whenthe contribution of the collectiveis ignored, it is usually a man who gets the credit.
“Most of the greatadvances of the digital age were done collaboratively,” he said. “There is no lightbulb moment in the garage when someone comes up witha new idea.”
