That was Ed Catmull, the co-founder of Pixar. One of the main reasons we struggle with innovation is the focus on risk, or what Catmull would say “prevent all problems”. If you are serious about creating better outcomes, it has to be about making good stuff. Risk is important to manage, but if we manage it too much it’s hard to make good stuff.
